Hours of Operation Monday - Friday  8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

1st and 3rd Staurday of each mont 8-12

Types of Materials Accepted
  • Cardboard and Paper Products - including cardboard of every type,  newsprint, catalogs, phone books, and most paper products
  • Aluminum and steel cans
  • Plastic bottles (#1 and #2) Soda pop, milk jugs, laundry soap, etc.
  • Electronics - computers, TV's, monitors, stereos, speakers, microwaves, cameras    NOTE:  There is a $15 charge for computer monitors, TV's and microwaves.  Wood encasements must be removed prior to drop-off. 
  • White Goods (washers, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers and other large appliances) - A nominal fee is charged.
  • Bulky Goods (Furniture, sofas, mattresses, beds, etc.) - A nominal fee is charged
  • Automotive Batteries
  • Waste Oil
  • Tires
  • Limited construction debris
Materials Not Accepted
  • Household Hazardous Waste
  • Batteries - Household and electronic batteries are not accepted
  • Yard Waste - Tree and lawn clippings
  • Glass
  • Shingles
  • Paint

 

Methods of Disposal
  • Citizens of Newton County can drop of recyclable materials during business hours, at no cost except where specified.
  • Waste Collection service providers pick up recyclables in clear plastic bags on different routes each day.  Clear bags for recyclables are available at a very small charge.
