What can I do with my leftover Household Hazardous Waste?

The best thing to do with leftover, unused Household Hazardous Waste is to provide the unused portions to others who can use them.  If you don't know someone who needs these leftover items, in most Northwest Arkansas Counties collection facilities or periodic collection services are available to help provide these materials for redistribution, often for free, to others who can use them, or alternatively, to provide for their safe collection, storage, and proper disposal.

Listed below are details regarding facilities, services, and schedules for collection and disposal of Household Hazardous Waste available in the counties of the Northwest Arkansas Regional Solid Waste Management District.

Baxter County

Baxter County has a permanent HHW Collection Center, located at the Baxter County Road and Bridge Shop in Mountain Home.  The facility is open until noon on Mondays, or by appointment, and is available to all citizens of Baxter County, who can drop off paints, oil and automotive lubricants, batteries, and any other Household Hazardous Waste that is considered typical.  The facility does provide materials free of charge for re-use, and citizens are invited to look here first before purchasing new supplies of paints, pesticides, herbicides, and similar materials.
