What is C & D
Waste?
C & D is waste
generated during construction or demolition of homes and other
structures. Except for certain hazardous materials, most C & D
Waste is considered Class IV waste, and can be disposed of in
permitted land fills.
It must be noted
that on-site burning is strictly prohibited by Arkansas law.
Open burning contributes to smog, pollution and contamination of
the land, water and air.
Likewise, open
dumping of C & D Waste is not permitted. In fact, any means of
disposal except for those listed on the right are considered
improper, and probably violate Arkansas statutes. |
What are the
proper methods of disposal?
1. Contract
with a licensed hauler to transport the materials to an approved
facility for disposal.
2. Haul C & D waste
to a permitted facility such as a Transfer Station, for ultimate
land fill disposal.
3. Haul C & D waste
to a permitted land fill facility for disposal.
4. In some
circumstances, C & D waste can be disposed of on your own
private property, provided it is non-hazardous, and that waste
is not accepted from any outside parties. |
