Waste Battery Disposal

Lead Acid

Waste lead acid batteries such as those used in vehicles (cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, tractors and equipment, etc.) are too valuable to throw away!  In most cases, they are turned in for exchange on the purchase of new batteries from any battery retailer. In the rare instance when you need to dispose of a lead acid battery and are not exchanging it in the purchase of a new one, any of the region's recycling centers, including county recycling centers and private recycling centers will take them at no charge.

Electronics and Household Batteries

These types of batteries should not be disposed in the household trash. Generally considered to be "Household Hazardous Waste" or Electronics Waste, they should be removed from the electronic device (cell phones, computers, and other devices) and disposed of at one of the region's recycling centers.
