  • Cardboard and Paper Products - including cardboard of every type,  newsprint, catalogs, and all paper products
  • Aluminum and steel cans
  • All plastic bottles
  • Glass - Brown and Clear
  • Electronics - computers, TV's, monitors, stereos, speakers, microwaves, cameras    NOTE:  There is a $15 charge for computer monitors, TV's and microwaves - all other listed electronic items accepted free.  Wood encasements must be removed prior to drop-off. Attendant must be present!
Materials

  • White Goods (washers, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers and other large appliances)
  • Bulky Goods (Furniture, sofas, mattresses, beds, etc.)
  • Household Hazardous Waste
  • Scrap metal
  • Batteries - Household, electronic and automotive batteries are not accepted
  • Yard Waste - Tree and lawn clippings
  • Waste Tires - for info about local tire recycling centers where you can drop used tires at no cost, click here.
Methods of
Disposal
  • Citizens of Baxter County can drop of accepted recyclable materials during business hours, at no cost except where specified.
  • Curbside Waste Collection service providers pick up recyclables in clear plastic bags on the last garbage pickup up day each month.

  • Waste Tires from car dealers only. For info about local tire recycling centers where you can drop used tires at no cost, click here.
     
  • Waste Oil from the public (limit 9 gallons per household per year)
     
  • Household Hazardous Waste (HHW - paints, batteries, lawn and garden products, etc.)  NOTE:  Attendant must be present. Original containers only!  Must be labeled! Do not mix chemicals!   No glass containers unless they are contained in a plastic container. Limit five gallons paint per household per year.

  • RE-USE! Baxter County residents are invited to visit the HHW facility for re-useable materials. Hours are as stated, and an attendant must be present, but there is no charge for re-useable Household Chemicals!
Methods of Disposal
  • Citizens of Baxter County can drop off waste oil and Household Hazardous Waste on Mondays only, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 12 noon.
